Leningrad (2009)
A terrible drama of the Second World War. The siege of Leningrad conducted by the Nazis between 1941 and 1943 told from the point of view of particular characters.
A British journalist who is the victim of an air attack and is saved by a miracle is abandoned by his colleagues. They believe her dead, but with the help of a Russian police will be able to survive. Boards
try to do whatever possible to help the victims. With a climate that spares no one, an almost constant state of starvation, and constant bombing Nazis the film conveys a sense of hopelessness horrible.
A reminder of the horrors of war to generations that have not lived. A reminder of the stupidity and futility of human beings everywhere. And a memory of heroes who gave their lives for their values.
A cast of very high level integrated by Mira Sorvino, Olga Sutulov, Gabriel Byrne and Armin Mueller-Stahl gives life to this unique Russian-British.
In a word, excellent.
